Rumiyati (34), an Indonesian employed at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was found dead on the stairs of a hotel at jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday, allegedly killed by a person she already knew.

"Rumiyati`s body is now kept in a Kuala Lumpur hospital for investigation and autopsy," Basori Kastar (42), member of the Javanese community solidarity association di Kuala Lumpur said Wednesday night.

Rumiyati was allegedly killed by a foreign employee following a legalization program held by the Malaysian government.

The death of Rumiyati, he added, had already been notified to her family and relatives, but they cannot afford a trip here. They hoped Indonesians in Malaysia would contribute some funds to enable the dead body to return to Indonesia for burial.

According to her passport, the dead victim named Rumiyati born in Jember on May 17, 1978. Her passport was issued in Pekanbaru, Riau province in 2010 and valid until 2015.

The employees, members of Pasomaja, have raised 1,000 ringgits, and expected to increase to 4,000 ringgits to take out the dead body from the hospital, arrangement of the necessary papers and departure to her home village in Indonesia.

"We hope some other Indonesian friends will also contribute, including the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur" he said.

In the meantime, Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Zulkarnaen Abdul Rahman quoting a Malaysian media said that the victim was already dead when found by the hotel`s administrators in the third floor at 11 pm.

When found the victim was already dead with neck injuries, and the victims`s body was found in her clothing bag left on the stairs near the hotel room.

"The motive of the murder was still unknown, but the killer may already knew her. We are conducting an investigation," he said.
