|Yudhoyono congratulates Putin on election victory|

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, on behalf of Indonesia and its people, congratulated Vladimir Putin on his election as the next Russian president and said he hoped for increased cooperation between the two countries.
Presidential special aide for international affairs Teuku Faizasyah told newsmen here on Monday that President Yudhoyono had phoned Putin to express his congratulations.
"The President just called President Putin to congratulate him on his election as Russian president, and on behalf of the people and the government sent his regards, while underlining the size of the vote, which reflects the people`s great confidence in President Putin and for that, emphasized readiness for the two countries to develop and increase cooperation in the future," he said.
Faizasyah said President Yudhoyono also expressed his commitment to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting scheduled in Vladivostok, Russia, this year.
"The President reiterated that he would come to the APEC meeting in Vladivostok and hoped in 2013 that Putin could attend when the APEC meeting is held in Indonesia," he said.
President Vladimir Putin, meanwhile, said that Indonesia is very significant for Russia regarding cooperation in various fields.
"President Putin underlined Indonesia`s significance for Russia in the context of trade, military as well as other trade, and reiterated his commitment to use the Vladivostok meeting for increasing bilateral relations," he said.
