ST. LOUIS (AP) — A program in the St. Louis area is offering proof that those with development disabilities can make meaningful contributions and showcase talents just like anyone else.

The program is called "Everyone Deserves a Shot." The organization, called Life Skills, handed out cameras and instruction in basic photography to 12 people with intellectual disabilities, autism or Down syndrome, ranging in age from 21 to 73.

Life Skills president Wendy Sullivan says the photographs have unleashed unexpected talent in many of the photographers.
